Frankfort School District 157-C students win Metra safety poster contest

Chelsea Intermediate School fourth grader Emma Soltis won First Place and Hickory Creek Middle School student Michaela Mitchell won Second Place in the Fourth Annual Metra Safety Poster Contest. The annual contest is open each year to students from grades K-12 in Cook, DuPage, Kane, Lake, McHenry and Will Counties. The contest is based on creativity, originality, fulfillment of the contest guidelines and the expression of the contest theme. The first place winner is awarded a notebook computer, second place winner gets a $250 gift card and third place winner gets a $100 gift card. The winning entries are printed as the following year's safety posters, displayed in Metra stations, featured in the Metra safety calendar and the Metra screensaver. The students were recognized at a District 157-C Board of Education meeting and awarded certificates of achievement. Along with the District 157-C students winning honors in the contest, Grand Prairie Elementary School was voted as the "Top Participating School." |
