Victoria Tu, who is now a sixth-grader at Wood Oaks Middle School, was a fifth-grader at Shabonee School when she entered Metra's 2008-2009 Safety Poster contest. The contest is designed to promote railroad safety practices to students in grades kindergarten through twelve. The theme of the contest was "Safety Rules: Look, Listen and Live."
As a first-place winner in her grade level, Victoria Tu will receive a laptop computer. The winning designs will be featured as next year's safety posters and distributed to schools, featured in train stations and on Metra's calendar.
