News : School DigestNILES NORTHNini Kao, a senior at Niles North High School, Skokie, was selected as one of the first-place winners of the 2009-10 Metra Safety Poster Contest, "Make the Right Choice: Look, Listen and Live." First-place winners were recently recognized at Metra's board of director's meeting. Metra honored more than 40 local students and schools for their role in helping the agency promote rail safety. The Metra Safety Campaign is designed to engage kindergarten-12th grade students throughout Northeastern Illinois in important railroad safety practices and behaviors. Safety essay contest participants were asked to express in 300 words or less how they "Make the Right Choice." |
