Metra announced the winners of its annual safety campaign. The Metra safety campaign was designed to promote lifesaving railroad safety practices to students.

Eighth-grader Danny Caplice of McClure Junior High School in Western Springs earned first place in the safety poster contest, first grader Yasmeen Obeid of Elizabeth Ide Elementary School in Darien earned second place in the safety poster contest, and first-grader Shannon Simpson of Elizabeth Ide Elementary School in Darien earned third place in the safety poster contest.
