High-Schooler wins Metra poster contest

Grayslake - Austin Thielen, a student at Grayslake Central High School, has won a first-place award in a Metra safety poster contest.

The first-place design will be featured as an official Metra safety poster next year and distributed to more than 2,000 schools in northeastern Illinois. It also will be featured in Metra station displays; in Metra's 2010 safety calendar; and Metra's contest Web site, www.metracontest.com.

For winning first place, Thielen will receive a laptop computer.
